ABOUT 

UBV is a professional association based in Brussels, dedicated to uniting and advocating for the interests of film and audiovisual service providers.

Its primary goal is to act as a representative body for its members in dealings with audiovisual institutions, actively safeguarding their interests.

Moreover, the association offers assistance to its members on specific challenges they encounter, providing practical solutions and support.

SERVICES

The services of our federation aim to:

  • Unify Brussels service providers, enabling us to effectively address our specific concerns with various levels of authority.
  • Serve as representatives for our members in relevant audiovisual committees such as the Chambre de Concertation du Cinéma de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, screen.brussels, and others.
  • Establish a collaborative space that fosters dialogue and knowledge-sharing within our industry.
  • Cultivate connections and cooperation with counterparts in the Flemish region (VOTF) and Wallonia to advocate for our interests in accordance with relevant issues and governing bodies.
  • Offer prompt and practical solutions to challenges faced by our members.
  • Represent our members at domestic and international events.
  • Contribute to the growth of the sector by nurturing a robust and vibrant ecosystem.

Marine Haverland
Coordinator - Contact person

After an experience in audiovisual production (Versus production, Aura Films) and in the organization of digital events (Liège Web Fest), Marine was in charge of new media at screen.brussels.

She supported numerous immersive content projects and innovative companies.

For UBV, she will use her entrepreneurial experience and her knowledge of the Belgian and European audiovisual ecosystem.

Tom Hameeuw
President

Tom Hameeuw is the founder and co-director of The Fridge. He has been in charge of financial and operational management since the founding of the company, in 2006. The Fridge was re-branded as The Pack in 2021 resulting in a new assignment with a full focus on new business and innovation, real-time technologies being the core of their innovation pipeline. As a result, The Pack launched the start-up SYNK, offering real time solutions for the audio-visual and corporate market. Bringing his comprehensive knowledge of the audio-visual industry and his sharp vision on innovative business models, Tom is the President of UBV. 

Koen Vanderstraeten

Koen Vanderstraeten entered the audio-visual scene in Belgium in 2003 where he started as production assistant & production manager in commercial film production. Eager to know all the aspects of film and digital content production, his passion for film led him to image and audio post-production for feature films and series, as well as production of high end live-action, VR, CGI & animation content for the commercial markets.

In 2020 Koen joined Eye-lite, one of Belgium’s leading rental houses for camera, lighting and grip with branches in France, Switzerland, Morocco and Luxembourg.

 

In 2022 Koen took over the lead from Mr. Thierry Dubois as the new managing director for the Eye-lite Group and became a permanent member for Eye-lite in the UB&BV association where he joined forces with the other partners to defend the interests the moving picture industry in the Brussels region.

Pascal Flamme

Pascal Flamme is an administrator of audiovisual and real estate companies. With a degree in sound engineering with distinction from IAD in 1990, he founded Studio Caraïbes in 1989, becoming a key player in the field of sound engineering. He acquired renowned studios in Belgium, including "Studio Daylight" in 1991 and "Studio Madeleine" in 1992.

Over the years, he expanded his audiovisual empire by establishing dubbing studios in France and managing audiovisual real estate projects in Brussels. In 2018, the MASDA company was sold, and Pascal Flamme became the CFO and CEO of KHOBALT, specializing in film and TV series dubbing. He is also a co-founder of TV FACTORY, a real estate and audiovisual activities hub in La Louvière.

Guy Manas

Guy Manas is currently the Director at STUDIO L'EQUIPE in Belgium, a position he has held since September 2012, accumulating 11 years of experience within the company.

Previously, he served as the Director of Operations at Quinta Industries for 7 years, from 2005 to January 2012, where he managed the supply chain, labor relations, and oversaw organizational changes, including the establishment of a plant in Tunisia.

Prior to his current role, he worked at Eastman Kodak as a Product Marketing Manager for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, where he coordinated business research, business plans, and managed product launches.

During his time at Kodak as the Technical Director for France & Benelux, he supported sales teams and customers to enhance the perceived value of products and services, and provided input for new product definitions. With over two decades of professional experience, Guy Manas brings valuable expertise to any organization.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

Your company provides services to the audiovisual sector?
Either services and facilities for shootings and/or post-production services?

Then, you’re more than welcome to become a member.

Registration fee is 185€ HTVA for small companies (less than 3 FTE) and 385€ HTVA for big companies (more than 3 FTE) per year.
